Brette Law, LLC is a family law firm located in Essex, CT. The firm represents clients needing counsel and representation in matters of divorce, child support, child custody, visitation, probate and special education matters concerning minor children. Brette Law represents clients in courts in Middlesex, New Haven, Hartford and New London counties and provides mediation, collaborative divorce as well as traditional litigation.

Attorney Fitton is child-focused in her approach to family law cases involving custody and visitation. A strong advocate for her clients, she is always mindful of the short and long-term emotional ramifications of the issues surrounding divorce, separation, custody, visitation and support.

Attorney Fitton has a strong foundation in educational theory and practice, which she gained through the education and practical training involved in earning her degree in Elementary Education from Southern Connecticut State University (B.S. ‘98) and her work an elementary school teacher. While in law school, Attorney Fitton interned with the Center for Children’s Advocacy, where she assisted in advocating for the needs of children with special needs in Hartford area public school systems.  More recently, Attorney Fitton served as an independent special education hearing officer for the State of Connecticut, where she conducted hearings and decided cases involving disputes between parents and school districts.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law (‘05), Attorney Fitton won the Honorable Herbert Barrall Family Law Award, Connecticut Bar Association Real Property Award and Award for Excellence in the Advanced Asylum and Human Rights Clinic. Upon graduation, Attorney Fitton practiced for five years with a leading matrimonial law firm in Hartford, CT. 

Since founding Brette Law LLC in 2010, Attorney Fitton has won the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Leadership Award, served as co-chair of the Family Law Committee, Public Service Director of the Young Lawyers Section and has served as a Special Master in the Hartford and Norwich Family Courts.
